Well the annual event is here again and I’m happy to say last year we had  a group of 34. And can you believe everyone that said they wanted to go showed up? Yes I was amazed!! Well Doug and Tony did a pretty good job keeping things going last year. If you were at the trip you know about the "freshly brewed coffee" and "what is an egg hole". Everyone seemed to be pretty happy with the new campgrounds on the river this year. Riverview Campgrounds where very nice to us considering Pat and K-Dog got almost thrown out of the White Campgrounds. So this year I reserved everything and put a deposit of $100 bucks down to secure our 2 camp spots on the river. However this year we need to up the group a little and get it up to 50 people or we will loose one of the camp sites. I think everything we did went great the extra money that I ended up with I put toward food and firewood for the group. However, everyone did a good job of bringing there own food. This year Doug and I will take care of breakfast and bring the coffee, egg holes, bacon, juice and a few other things.

For all you folks that would like the details about the river that we will be canoeing on it is called the "Rifle River" in Sterling MI.

New for this year:

bulletThursday Night Arrivals. Well after all these years I realized this weekend goes so fast that I'm going up there one day early to try to enjoy it a little longer. For those of you that would like to come up one day early it's $9 per night for Camping.
bulletIf you thought the trip was short last year let me know and they offer a 29 mile trip instead of 16 mile trip. TUBER are dropped at the 16 mile drop (NO 29 mile drop for tubers). $4 per person extra for the longer one.
bulletBring something for the Saturday surprise NIGHT read below
bulletNumber of years we have been doing it as the WESTPORT Canoe trip 4 years.
bulletAll pets must be on a leash.
bulletCANOE or TUBE: This year you will have the option to tube or canoe down the river. Well I after last year I'm officially a tuber and not messing around with the canoes. And like last year if you don't tell me if you are TUBING or Canoeing I will put you on the TUBER list.
bulletSEND ME YOUR EMAIL address to WESTPORT.canoe.party@tridelec.com so I can email this flier to you when I get it done every year.

PRICES

bulletThe price for this year is $35 per person or the usual $69 for couple. NOTE: A couple is defined as a female and male. So Coscia and his butt brother can't get the discount this year.

OPTIONS:
bulletGreenwood option

Is a 29 mile canoe trip opposed to the Moffatt of 16 miles which we went on last year. The additional charge for this is $4 per person. If you choose this option you need to tell ME NOW because I have to collect this money.

bulletThursday Night option:

If you want to come up Thursday night it will be an additional $9 for that night and it can be paid at the Riverview Campsite for the camping.

bullet

The group decided that they didn't care for the food so everyone is responsible for FEEDING themselves. Some breakfast things listed below will be there. NO DINNER & NO LUNCH will be provided. The quote was "Rather cook my own".

What does this money cover?

    1. Camping for Friday night and Saturday night.
    2. Canoeing or Tubing on Saturday (16 MILES). (3 hours)  Note: Unless you go with the option.
    3. Tuber Alert: If you are tubing and want a tube for your beer it is $6 bucks EXTRA.
    4. Community Grill, charcoal, ketchup, and mustard  will be provided. This is just so everyone doesn't have to bring there own charcoal and grills.
    5. Firewood for the weekend.
    6. Unlimited supply of the Famous EGG hole.
    7. Unlimited supply of freshly brewed coffee.

    Famous EGG hole

    "Every try and Egg Hole"

bulletThe prices listed in this web page are FINAL. You DO NOT have a canoe or tube until I have cash in my hand. I can tell you the lists of people that say there going and at the last minute something comes up? Everyone has these things however the campground doesn't give me a refund so I can't give you a refund. I can't tell you all the money I lost because of this. The entire amount is DUE up front no partial payment or I'll pay you when I get my check stuff. I have chased people down year after year to get $20 bucks? Lets just make this fun and simple send me the FULL amount to:
bulletMoney is due by July 4th 2001 (Most people give it to me at WESTPORT 4th of July party)

What time should I get there?

bulletMost of us are taking Friday off of work and plan on getting up there around 2:00 pm. I would suggest getting UP THERE BEFORE it gets dark because it’s a PAIN in the ass to setup a tent in the DARK. And everyone will just laugh at you anyway.
