WESTPORT Canoe Trip 2001
August 3rd, 4th 5th 2001
Well the annual event is here again and Im happy to say last year we had a group of 34. And can you believe everyone that said they wanted to go showed up? Yes I was amazed!! Well Doug and Tony did a pretty good job keeping things going last year. If you were at the trip you know about the "freshly brewed coffee" and "what is an egg hole". Everyone seemed to be pretty happy with the new campgrounds on the river this year. Riverview Campgrounds where very nice to us considering Pat and K-Dog got almost thrown out of the White Campgrounds. So this year I reserved everything and put a deposit of $100 bucks down to secure our 2 camp spots on the river. However this year we need to up the group a little and get it up to 50 people or we will loose one of the camp sites. I think everything we did went great the extra money that I ended up with I put toward food and firewood for the group. However, everyone did a good job of bringing there own food. This year Doug and I will take care of breakfast and bring the coffee, egg holes, bacon, juice and a few other things.
For all you folks that would like the details about the river that we will be canoeing on it is called the "Rifle River" in Sterling MI.
