WESTPORT Canoe Trip 2005
July 29h, 30th, & 31st 2005

MONEY DUE JULY 10th or face the LATE fee.

River Walk on Sunday is in dedication to BOB (dog) death of last year.

Last year was another great year on the canoe trip there was a few new additions in the amount of people which is always nice. Everyone had a great time on the river and I even had a few stories about helping some people out on the river leaving our canoes stranded having to walk back with their coolers. Sorry about that it won't happen this year. Norms was great we also got the grill at Norms working over the firepit making bake potatoes for everyone along with a huge breakfast for everyone on Sunday. We are looking for more volunteer COOKS this year if you are interested. The only problem that we had was the bathroom where left pretty messy and we need to try to pick up after ourself. Norm was not happy about the bathroom situation and shower. I assured Norm this would not be a problem this year and I would clean it myself if I had to. If this does become a problem again this year we might have to put a shower fee along with this or pay additional money to have it cleaned pat of the package price. Anyway the riverwalk was pretty good last year everyone just took some chairs out there and relaxed. This year should be a great year because of the weather.

For those of you that venture up to the rifle river will find this year we have located 26 acre lot in which we will be camping. A friend of mine owns a house up North and has given us the permission to camp on his land. The place we will be staying at has a house on it so we have gotten permission to use the back bathroom of the house to take showers. There will be 2 porta potties(which will be CLEANED and Fresh before we get there)  located onsite for our use along with the use of my RV. The place is located 1/2 mile from the Rifle rive so we are within walking distance of the river. The bus will pick up canoers at the end of the drive way and hall us to the location where we choose to canoe from. The drop off (PUBLIC LANDING) will be located 1/2 mile from where we are staying:

Few new options this year and some of the favorites.

For all you folks that would like the details about the river that we will be canoeing on it is called the "Rifle River" in Sterling MI.
